On Open Plains: Six new images released

To coincide with his new gallery representation with ARTITLEDcontemporary, William is set to release six new prints of two of the world’s most iconic predators, the lion and the polar bear.

The Collection

The first images of an evolving series, On Open Plains highlights the need to protect the spaces the species each image depicts needs to thrive. William is a firm believer that by conserving wild spaces then wild species will thrive, as will the people that live along side them.

As with all William’s work each shot is taken by hand, allowing him to react to his subject’s movements.

It is vital to me all my work is created by hand, without remotes. The ability to react at a split seconds notice can be the difference between a good image and a great one, it allows me to read my subjects emotions and portray that to the viewer, ensuring the image is as close to the wild encounter as it can possibly be.

I have always wanted to get a lion portrait like this. It has a real feel of an old school painting to it, as if the lion was sitting and posing for the shot. Would that it be the case, it wouldn’t take me so many hours of waiting!
